I am all about British classics; brands
that connote feelings of true British heritage, authenticity and history.
For me, Fred Perry is the ultimate British classic, a brand that resonates with
me and a brand that I whole heartedly love and have loved for the majority of
my adult life.
I remember wearing Fred Perry way back when I was 14, bagging my first pique
polo neck from their Manchester store and feeling ultimately "cool".
Having seen photographs of my dad growing up
wearing the brand and still opting for the British brand to this day, it was a
brand that had a firm place in my heart due to the icons and subcultures that
have adopted the brand along the way.
So when I visited New York a few weeks
back, I knew that I wanted to rock the British classic out there in the US.
Opting for pieces from one of their many
awesome collaborations with one of my favourite designers Bella Freud; this gingham slim fit, long sleeved top is a fun take on the classic Fred
Perry polo. With super kitsh star designs Freud has given the classic Fred
Perry style a current and fun refresh in ways that I obviously love. Styling
it with an oversized black coat by Boohoo, boyfriend jeans, ankle boots and a
fedora, it was the perfect ensemble for exploring one of my favourite cities.
Finishing the look with my uhhhhmazing red
leather Acne boots from Shoeaholics, it was the perfect pop of colour to
complete a monochrome look.
