Dressing for occasions is tough, especially in summer when you can't hide behind a blanket of glitter and sequins for safety. And you lot know me by now, to know that I'm not one to rest on the laurels of the classic LBD and pointed court combo.
So as summer, slowly begins to rear it's beautiful head and the impending BBQ's, proms and weddings get closer, I thought I'd start to share a few looks that I feel would be suitable for said occasions, to cancel out those inevitable wardrobe melt-downs once and for all.
Dipping into this seasons trends, I simply cannot get enough of the ruffle's, tiers and frills that have been gracing our much loved party dresses, blouses and more over the past few months. This dress by Reclaimed Vintage ticks each of those boxes. Adornment's in this way work to add interest to a look, without going all out on the ole bling factor.
It's a great way to add a feminine touch to a look, but when teamed with bad-ass accessories such as a contrasting choker and a wicked socks and sandal combo, the sartorial bar is level once again.
I would highly suggest shopping around for these more daring pieces. Colours such as this nude shade and silhouettes as flouncy and interesting as this, won't attract the masses so is a sure-fired-way to ensure that there'll be no twinning moments this summer. But saying that I thought the same about a pink suit, but we all know how that went down... Twinning ain't so bad after all.
