*10 days ‘till Christmas klaxon, I
repeat it is just 10 days until Christmas*
Well, I don’t know about you lot, but I am rather excited for the 10 day build
up to commence. As much as I love Christmas Day itself there really is nothing
quite like the build up to the very special day.
The nights out with friends, the decorations, the films, music and of course
the Christmas shopping!
Last week my beautiful friend Amber and I hotfooted to Oxford Street to get our
Christmas shopping ON! Albeit with a few festive activities thrown in for good
measure.
We were armed with an Oxford Street Gift Card and ready to do some serious
damage.
 |
First up was shopping fuel, known to most as breakfast. For such an occasion we visited Lanes of London which is conveniently situated right by the Marble Arch tube station. A beautifully traditional hotel
that offers a wide range of breakfast choices, teas and coffees… So lets just
say we were a tad spoilt for choice.
|
Amber and I, already in the gluttonous Christmas spirit opted for a good ole
Full English Breakfast. Bacon, Sausage, Scrambled Eggs and more it was a
complete treat, all washed down with some truly delicious coffee.
Now fed and watered we were ready for our first activity of the day...
Visiting the GINORMOUS Lush Cosmetics flagship store
on Oxford Street we were kindly shown around the huge variety of departments
within the store. Everything from bath and shower, body and face and even make
up and fragrance, Lush really is a one-stop shop for all things beauty. We
left, arms ladened with bags and excited for a pamper session later that
evening.
We then had a couple of hours spare so naturally
visited the HUGE Topshop store directly in the middle of Oxford Street. Trying
on our party looks for the festive season ahead we worked up quite the appetite
once again.
Tummies rumbling we headed for St Christopher’sPlace, a quiet yet truly beautiful part of Oxford Street, filled with
restaurants, bars and independent boutiques.
Opting for Coco Chan a delicious Pan-Asian restaurant that filled us with the most tasty Pan-Asian
feast of Dim-Sum, Edamame, Spring Rolls, Tempura and more, each choosing an
Espresso Martini to accompany our meal. (The lighting in this restaurant was a
little dark but please see this post if you’re keen for some food porn)

Finally, it was time to do what we do best and hit the shops, keen to put yet another dent into our Oxford Street Gift Voucher we headed straight for Selfridges.
|
Selfridges is one of my all time favourite
shops, particularly at this time of year. The festivities are well under way at
Selfridges and I challenge anyone to visit the department store and leave
without a tiny bit of Christmas cheer… No Scrooges here.
After a busy day on the famous street it
was time to head back to our room at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel, situated just next
to Debenhams on Oxford Street… Can I get a dream location or what!?
Our room was super cosy, rather traditional in style but homely all the same,
with everything we needed for a good nights sleep and another busy day of
shopping the following day. The room we had also had a HUGE terrace which overlooked the entire Oxford Street, a pretty impressive view indeed.
The beauty of the Oxford Street GiftCard is that each and every shop along the lengthy shopping street accepts
the voucher, meaning it is the ultimate Christmas gift.
Both Amber and I ran ourselves ragged on the street, divulging in party looks,
festive food and Christmas presents for our loved ones all whilst using our
gift voucher… I know what I’ll be getting her for Christmas next year that’s
for sure ;)
