So as some of you may already know, I recently took the plunge and
moved to London from Manchester after finishing university in Huddersfield and
bagging myself a job at ASOS...whoop whoop. Myself and my boyfriend have moved
down here to better our careers with my gorgeous little sister who is doing a
placement year as a buyer at ASOS also.
I was SO excited to begin gathering pieces for our flat; once we'd eventually
found a flat after a hellish day of hunting...eurgh, and with a little help
from some of my favourite stores I think we're just about getting there.
The living room is a super bright and open space and we've filled it with the
most colourful pieces that we could find. Going for a somewhat retro vibe and
channelling our love of the 1960s i'm really loving the overall vibe of this
room, combining masculinity with some cute feminine touches....perfect!
The AMAZING bunch over at Urban Outfitters kindly sent across a number of
goodies (honestly it was like christmas when everything arrived) to make our
new flat into a home and I don't know what I would have done without them.
Urban Outfitters stock the most incredible home-wear
and i'm forever eyeing up they're incredible goodies, wishing I could bring
everything home with me, so I can't thank UO enough for being so bladdy
generous...dream come true alert!
Onto the kitchen which is, again, a very retro affair. I've had so much fun
gathering little novelty goodies to deck out the surfaces and make it look a
little bit more exciting than your average kitchen-living-area. Natural
History Museum sent over these utterly incredible stacked coffee cups with the
most amazing skeleton design; Will thinks it is the best thing i've ever been
sent...thats boys for you ey. The NHM have the most amazing array of home wear & gifts that i'm absolutely dying to get my
hands on to deck out the flat further.
And finally our bedroom, a tranquil room of blues, whites and dusty pinks, our
bedroom literally has the most beautiful natural light in the world, I
just love it! We've tried to keep the decor very simple and minimal, however with
some clashing prints on the bed, with the duvet cover & throw from Urban
Outfitters teamed with the cushions by Ikea. This is probably a little girlier
than Will would like, and he's getting a little weirded out by all my pineapple
pieces, but hey, i've got to have my little space don't I.
It's been 3 months since we moved down
here and I couldn't be happier. I hope you enjoyed a little sneak into our flat
and do let me know if you'd like to see more of these kind of posts in the
future with other bits and bobs that I pick out for out flat.
